We're an incredible design & development agency.
Building better web & mobile experiences with a perfected process.
Why our process works
Unify company and user goals from the beginning
We gain deep understanding of the business model goals, user goals, and current user workflow from day one, allowing us to best understand the pain points of the business and users. We use different exercises to get a ton of information on the table and quickly build understanding. Any existing research, competitor products, business opportunities, etc. are discussed in detail. This understanding provides the foundation needed to create an exceptional product.
Construct team based solutions with rapid ideation
Now that we’ve learned about the problem, aligned business and user goals, and understand the user workflow, it’s time to start cranking out solutions. We do this by sketching detailed solutions on paper individually. Everyone (from the CEO to the marketing manager) works separately on each feature to alleviate any groupthink. After sketching, the ideas are presented and the team “dot votes” (equal weight) on positive and negative aspects of the designs. Only the best ideas survive. Sketching low-fidelity solutions early on allows for iterating through many possible solutions to address user pain points without sacrificing precious time.
Validate concepts and test frequently
By reviewing all of the ideas we sketched, we further narrow down the product to create a finalized workflow. The workflow is made into aesthetically pleasing, high-fidelity mockups and then into a clickable prototype. A visual style is created, and individual screens are then stitched together with hotspots and animated transitions. The outcome is a life-like product which allows users to grasp the idea and functionality of the concept and to provide valuable feedback before development commences. This prototype can then be shown to users in person or shared remotely. It is also useful for future development work, so that developers can more easily grasp the concept.
Solidify a prototype to ensure your solution is the best it can be
The finalized prototype is shown to users and used as a method for eliciting contextual feedback. This allows us to observe usage patterns and reactions in real time from people external to the concept development. Sessions are conducted with individual users in a walkthrough format. Feedback includes insights into impressions and perceived issues rather than if they like the concept or not. Participants are prompted to give open and honest opinions and to think out loud. This verbal and nonverbal feedback is captured and used to further refine concept until the prototype is ready for development.
